Good gravy.  Am I a tease or what?  Nevermind.  Don't answer that.

My apologies folks - I've been gone for far too long.  Hope to be checking in more often in the future.  Not all the time, but often enough.  Hope I've still got some friends here!

Guess who just got back today...

That wild-eyed dude that has been away...
Hasn't changed, ain't got much to say...
Man I still think you cats are great...

Just a quick note to say that the OldDirtyTurtle's back!  No TV for 2 months, extremely limited internet time (just what I needed to pull literature off the internet for work), and an overall brain rest and change of pace.  Still don't know if I'm sane or not, but we'll see, won't we?

The new job is going pretty good.  I'm learning the balancing act of non-profit education and research.  Mastering the art of the shoe-string budget.  Loving the setting, loving the new co-workers, and loving the look on the faces of kids in the woods for the first time.

I'll write more in a day or so.  Hang with me folks!

Feces, feces, feces, feces, feces, feces, feces, feces, feces, feces, feces, feces, feces,

Just a quick entry...

I've been trying like mad to finish up some last minute sex steroid extractions over the last 2 days so I can squeeze some radiation lab time in today.  I leave town tomorrow.

If I had a dollar for every time I've written feces on a centrifuge tube, I'd have somewhere in the neighborhood of $300 for 2 days work.  Alas, all I have is a bunch of tubes of fecal steroids, some not-so-environmentally friendly lab waste, and a cramped wrist.

If there's one thing I've learned this year, it's that I am certainly not a biochemist.

Pray that it all goes well with the scary lab today and that my first day on the new job on Friday goes well.

See you folks soon...

Gotta go on a Xanga hiatus...

Since I'm headed off to the new job in NW AR, I'll be in some pretty temporary housing.  I'll be bouncing around a bit.

I'll post and comment when I can.  I'll miss you all.  See you when I get settled down!
